| February 3, 2002 Timor sparrow which broke a foot does a rehabilitation. As for her who took off a plaster cast, there was hardly a grip. However, her grip considerably returns to the cause now. I did not have a general idea of rehabilitation on a bone fracture of a bird until now. However, I learned that it was for it to be very important. She is to do a rehabilitation for one week more.
I put back a nest of one pair of us of Timor Sparrows which laid eggs. They lay eggs only by two eggs. And considerably long time passed. They have begun to kick an egg yesterday. Therefore I decided that let stop their breeding. Japan uses the nest which there was with this straw for finch usually. It keeps temperature and the humidity very mach. I give fiber of a palm to a bird and let a nest complete to them. This nest does not keep wariness to a bird. This is suited for using it for the wild bird which does not fit a person. This photograph is for general finch. There is a nest for gouldian finch and Japanese Tit elsewhere, too. They are different in form in accordance with a habit of a bird. There are these nests with straw and thread to keep form. A bird attacks to a nest and plays. It has to change it occasionally. The reason is because thread loosens because a bird points it out. And there is a case a bird gets entangled in the thread, and to die when bird keeper neglects to confirm a nest. Bird keeper hating the uses a birdhouse(box nest). I have this on with a tree. A bird makes a hideout with nest materials in the inside. Because this nest does not use thread, there is a little danger. However, a bird tends to be cautious of this nest. We can use a nest for finch with the history bred by a human being, but this is not usable in timor sparrow which there is not of the history. They can die of stress to be cautious of a nest.
This photograph is the product seat where timor sparrows made in a nest. Because breeding of this pair stopped it, I took it out. They make a very splendid nest. I always respect it in their making a nest. They make a high nest of density more when they accomplish breeding. This is not so better. |
| February 11, 2002 I finished a rehabilitation of Uragasumi of timor sparrow. She is weak in a grip a little. However, she is cheerful. It was a very nice thing. I changed a perch from lumber into a straight tree. Lumber is thickness of around 3mg. It was beneficial for exercise of a foot, but seemed to be still hard to her a little. Denshu and Reisen of timor sparrows which sat on an egg have begun to kick two eggs from a nest more. I do not look in many hideouts for them who are nervous. More two eggs seem to be left in a nest. I thought that they warmed an egg eagerly. Because there was not I by work home in the daytime, I did not understand it. They may not hold an egg so eagerly. However, I leave you to them, and there is a method. There is not a grade of breeding of this year so smartly. I think that I have to improve environment to breed. I make a plan to move in the suburbs of Tokyo in order to give larger environment to them. In Tokyo, a rent is very high. Japan is abundant in greens to give to a bird. And it is easy to obtain them very much. I give greens of Japan name Komatuna and Baby bok choy to them. Richness includes a vitamin and calcium both. Perhaps Komatuna is vegetables peculiar to Japan. Tokyo is the place of origin with improved variety of rape flower this. It is got close to a human being of Tokyo from the Edo period. It is assumed that Spinacia oleracea and a cabbage must not give to a bird in Japan so that there are greens abundantly. Spinacia oleracea has an ingredient obstructing absorption of calcium a lot. A cabbage has some poison on a part of a core.

| February 25, 2002 There was able to be various it between these two weeks. Ichinokura of timor sparrow became joint pain. He injured an ankle around 2 weeks ago. Perhaps the cause is a quarrel. As for them, a temper is very rough. As for the small bird, there is a slight injury smartly. They need to grind nothing with a temperature being high usually. I let idea, him alone so. there is very many a case of the opposite effect when we treat birds badly. However, I confirmed that his ankle swelled up and seemed to be painful and put up one leg in last week and. By all appearance it is joint pain. In case of joint pain,Needed the dosage of an antibiotic, but there was not stock to my home. There is only the steroid which I used for a bone fracture the other day. Because there is not a problem as for his appetite at once, I administer steroid to him and decide to go to an animal hospital. The result of a medical examination was joint pain. I have an antibiotic and decide to do it in the thing that I just administer the steroid which I gave to him. I sprinkle medicine on morning and evening, bait and give medication, and his ankle considerably attracts swelling now. It is for a joint to have just hardened that is fearful with joint pain, but seems to be all right. I call the chief physician even on tomorrow and am to ask instructions of medication. In addition, Rihaku of java sparrow did first childbirth on 19th. She is being a different color of a mutation. There is not a sign to lay eggs afterwards that laid eggs successively on 2nd. Because she was being a different color of a mutation, growth was very slow. Therefore male and female distinction was not able to have conviction till, actually, she tried to lay eggs. It is a digression, but she does funny action occasionally.
