April 13, 2003
I was busy as ever.
I listened to call and understood that chick seems to have hatched. But ICHINOKURA(timor sparrow) has murdered chicks cruelly before. So I did not hope it much. Because they killed chicks by all means, I devised that in breeding box. I connected breeding boxes. I let them select that they like because I put several nests there. There seems to have been the effect for the present. They had self-possession than before, but the chick has been still killed. Though I got ready, I am sad.
I confirmed falling-out hair to area of neck of TAMAJIMAN (java sparrow having a tumor) in the beginning of April. I felt unpleasant presentiment whether tumor spread here. But because I cannot do it whatever, I just saw the condition. Falling-out hair part becomes big by speed to be more soon than my expectation, and it is the state that new tumor looks clearly now. It will be adenocarcinoma instead of tumor already. She did not pick at original tumor. She is the state that her bill does not reach because adenocarcinoma is very big. Her state became very bad recently. Because her temperature is not stable in morning, she is apt to close her eyes. She bathed yesterday, but has bled from her tumor again. The edge of feed container was dyed by red. Her hemostasis function may be what deteriorate. She eats feed for long time after adenocarcinoma appeared. It seems to be hard to add feed in her crop. I must get ready for her death. Honesty, I thought that she is hard on this weekend, but she seems to be still all right. I intended to film her as data of adenocarcinoma. But I cannot film her cruel state. There is not feature of her whom I took the other day any longer.

The last beautiful figure of TAMAJIMAN

The chick of SEKKEI(timor sparrow) has become one of them. There is a little volume to give of their feed. Last they were excellent. I wonder at them. Growth of the chick is bad. Even if the chick sees my finger, he(she) is not cautious. Their parent gives only minimum feed to the chick. I did not seem to stimulate parent and paid attention at night from 5th and began a hand-feeding. The chick is not afraid of people at all. I am surprised very much.

Deficit of the feather of GIKYOU and OKUNOMATU(timor sparrow BF2) are cruel state. I let them move in a breeding box because I used metal cage. Actually, I thought in question for several months. GIKYOU, OKUNOMATU, SHINKAME whom hatched in August, last year seem to be pure timor sparrow. Because they had line of pink on bill, I considered they are BF2. The line has disappeared completely. Besides, Hybrid does not show deficit of a feather until now. I think that deficit of feather happens as characteristic of wild species. Moreover, TERUTEHIME(timor sparrow BF2) has line of pink on bill by now that became an adult bird. Even if he stays with a metal cage, there is not deficit of feather. I intend to still observe a little around here. (I may have done careless management considerably. I reflect. )
I gave a nest to a way of several years to PI(java sparrow). She is the only bird which was not given a nest to in my home. She has terrible special ability she destroys nest in half day, and to be able to scratch at her neck by all means. But, for these past several months, she gets impossible to lay eggs because there was not a nest. It is the feeling that her hormone balance was broken. She came to play with a tail feather. And she gained weight. I can say only by sense, but it will be influence of hormone. I reinforce a nest on sale more and give it. State of PI is good since I give a nest. A nest is not broken, too.
HOUYOU(timor sparrow) that a leg was bad by nutrition lack of chick age did first childbirth the other day. Therefore hormone balance became normal, and metabolism seems to have considerably advanced, too. Her feather was bettered, too, and she gets possible to fly. I am glad extremely. She was able to fly in only dozens ofcm until now. She is still poor at flying. But she gets possible to fly and she seems to be glad and participate in the crowd actively than before. I think that it is for laying eggs to be a serious matter maintaining hormone balance for female. Falling-out hair recovers completely if she lays eggs. It is more certain than iodine and vitamin prescribed for vet. ENZANSEKKA(java sparrow) seems to be molting. He looks like a cock, but does not have the symptom. It seems to be RIHAKU(java) of a mother, and is his sex hard to be settled?
Else a lot of birds are molting.

Goldfishs are well. Because they too eat water lettuce, I buy duckweed for feed and give. Because it does not pollute water even if they leave it, I felt relieved, but they do not leave it. As a result, I gave too much feed? They became big. Brown moss grew in the inside of a water lily pot. I began to think that green moss grew after brown moss and scraped it in water change for. My goldfishs seem to be a male and females. They do an act thing laying eggs. I observe it with care, but they do not lay eggs yet. I did not think when I bred to a goldfish. It is a complicated feeling.
